My grandfather passed away a while ago due to Alzheimer's. It's a horrific disease that eats away at your mind and takes away your memories. In my grandfather's final moments, he had forgotten how to swallow food and water. He didn't know his own daughters'. His own family he spent most of his life with. A lot of the events that Anti does in this book are things my grandfather did while losing his memory. I'm just spreading awareness. Hope for a cure one day ❤️Lengkap

He held out the rubber needles that are required for me to have my dexstrose. They came in many sizes, but he picked the shortest one to assure that my veins won't swell. He brought out a seemingly large packet and ripped one of it's ends. He pulled out a long, blue, rubber ribbon and tied it around my wrist. "Repeatedly open and close your fist.", he instructed. I did as I was told while he reached for another item in his pocket. He brought out another small packet- probably an alcohol swab. And I was right. "Now close your fist tightly..." Again, I did as I was told. I closed it tight enough for my fist to turn right. He suddenly started flicking the back of my hand. He continued flicking until one vein was clear enough to see. He reached for something in the large plastic box he brought along with him. Oh God, a needle. He inserted it in the rubber needle for it to penetrate through my skin. But before doing so, he ripped out one of the ends of the alcohol swab's packet and pulled out the swab. He wiped some of the alchohol onto the back of my hand and stuffed it back in his pocket. He took the rubber needle he was holding earlier and started to carefully aim it. When he was ready- "Deep breath..."Lengkap

I'm used to this reaction - people are often fascinated by my heterochromia - but something about his scrutiny makes me feel exposed. "Your eyes," he says softly. "They're extraordinary." I feel a flush creeping up my neck and quickly look away, busying myself with preparing the antiseptic. "It's a genetic condition called heterochromia iridum. Nothing extraordinary about it, I assure you." "I beg to differ," he responds, his voice warm. "They're quite captivating." I ignore the compliment, focusing on cleaning his wound. "This might sting a bit," I warn, applying the antiseptic. To his credit, Mr. Anderson doesn't flinch. "You have a gentle touch, Nurse Hayes. I hardly felt a thing." "Years of practice," I murmur, not meeting his gaze. "The cut isn't too deep, but I'd like Dr. Chen to take a look. He'll determine if you need stitches." He nods, then asks, "Have you been working here long, Nurse Hayes?" "A few years," I reply, keeping my answer vague.
