Meriola, a planet where animals have somehow adapted and gained their own senses of humanity exist alongside actual humans. They have learned to control their primal urges to consume their own animal brothers and sisters, and instead wait until the end of each month, where their neighbouring planet of Cobala visit, giving the folks of Meriola a chance to satisfy their urges with the monthly Meatsack Squad. The Box Has Twelve Sides is a collection of thirteen stories all connected as visions given to a homeless man in search of his future.
