All of which have impacted her life and shaped her into the person she is today.

A broken girl who's been trying to desperately put herself back together. Ever since that day so many years ago she hasn't been the same. The start of this apocalypse is also the start of her change. She realizes she is strong, and she can do this no matter how hard things may be.
