Elementals.

When Anna discovered she's an elemental she implodes. Not explodes, implodes, she collapsed in on herself until there's nothing left but a small girl trying to escape the cruelty of the hell she calls high school.

Daniel is an earth elemental. With a secret bigger than most. He is sworn to protect Anna at all costs including his life. He thinks of her as just another punishment for what he's done but when she becomes more than anyone thought she would his duty becomes more than the job description warned.

Adam is a master. A master of three out of five. If he were to away Anna to join him there would be nothing left to stop him from overthrowing his father. If only he could figure out what he cryptic message replaying in his thoughts was trying to say.

Then there's Crystal. The water elemental that knows too much and got in way over her head after what started as a simple walk home and turned into a full on love affair with knowledge.
