Flight of The Descendant

The era of the Scorching Moon has held the ordinary lives of the people of Azeluna hostage for three years. The nights when the redfog drops, rendering everything beyond five meters invisible, the "Angels of the Moon" descend with it. And they crave a sacrifice. People must stay as much inside as they can, as the scorch-rot and the moon's glow can be harmful and even lethal.

Twenty-three-year-old Jadan functions as the assistant of his thousand-year-old uncle and is suddenly involved in things far beyond his knowledge and experience when the night's scheduled sacrifice has been found dead.
