After the war, previous 7th year students of Hogwarts are offered another year to complete their schooling. Harry Potter, not knowing what to do next exactly, jumps at the chance of his first experience of a Voldemort-free school year, hoping to just focus on school and get his life together before he is thrown out into the wizrding world. 

Even though He-Who-Can-But-Won't-Be-Named is out of the picture, focusing on school is now practially impossible as he is forced to "play house" with Draco Malfoy, all because of a potion gone wrong, and both of their unwillingness to give up their, albeit accidental, child.
