The rope incinerated. Kai's weight dropped. Any strand of conscious thought that he'd had were gone in a flash as he fell. He felt his body ignite without his command - it must've been his core speaking, his heart. [After all, he'd always lived by emotion hadn't he?]
His flames led him to Cole, just below him. Their bodies crashed together, and anyone watching from the Bounty rail would only see one thing.
A flaming ball of pure fire being swallowed by darkness.
In other words, my recreation of Season 10's heart-stopping Episode 3. Cole falls, but Kai falls with him, leading them on a desperate journey through the darkness - injuries and all - to find their family again.

Sick to Insanity
Kai gets sick, and even though he is the master of fire, a fever drastically overcomes him. Causing headaches, and outburst of fire, it's not any normal illness. What happens then? Will his mind get warped from all this? Who will find him first? Power
(May have huge gaps between upload times but this story will be finished, that I can promise) Everyone thinks of Kai as a selfish person who puts himself before others and many other negative things. As Kai's time as a ninja, he always heard these comments and he couldn't do anything about it so he has to bottle his feelings whenever people say this. One day when he was on a mission with Cole to save some adventurous that got stuck in a narrow cave a disaster struck on Kai. After the mission Cole got all the thanks and Kai got none, Cole was the only one who truly understood what happened. Kai gets sick of how he is being treated and leaves to have a walk to take his mind off of things... but then he meets someone he didn't expect to meet... Non-canon ships are not implied but take it as you wish, just not greenflame because no. Ninjago Angst Week
A seven-part story written for Ninjago Angst Week. ---------- Cole should have known that it would happen, should have known that nobody lives forever. Cancer was almost incurable, anyway. But it didn't make his mother's death hurt any less, nor did it stop him from blaming himself. --- All his life, Morro had been alone. When Wu found him that one day, he was happy. Content. Loved. It was a foreign feeling, and he naively thought it would stay there forever, only for Wu to lie to him. Now he was alone again, desperate to prove to destiny that he was worthy to be the green ninja. It was his biggest mistake. --- In hindsight, maybe getting stabbed in the stomach wasn't the best idea he'd ever had. But if it was to protect Lloyd, Kai would do anything for his baby brother, even if his own life would be at risk. --- Nya had always hated failing, always hated making mistakes. It made her feel weak, useless, and unworthy. It was a fear that could either be a strength or weakness. But she had never hated failing more than she did when she hit that lever the wrong way. --- When Kai disappeared, Jay knew that all hope was lost. When Zane was lost as well, Jay knew that the chances of defeating Nadakhan were close to none. When Jay stupidly got himself captured, he knew that he shouldn't make his last wish. One by one, as his teammates were separated from each other, it seemed as if victory was non-existent. But he wasn't going to quit. --- As a nindroid, it wasn't possible for Zane to get sick. And he was grateful for that, because it meant that he could take care of his siblings better without getting sick or injured himself. Still, he worried whenever one of them got sick or injured, especially since he wasn't sure if Jay was going to survive. --- Lloyd knew that it would happen, that he'd be alone someday. Again. But he never expected it to hurt this much, and he never expected the day that he'd hate his dragon side.Complete
beautiful things in unlikely places
Cole never thought the place he hated most in the world would be where he met the person he cared the most about. That was until he met renowned vlogger Kai when visiting the hospital his mother passed away in. Kai always felt lonely, stranded in the hospital. He loved writing about a faraway world called Ninjago though, which had always been a welcome distraction from his cancer. When he met Cole, it was like life had meaning again. Beautiful things can happen in unlikely places. ((Note)) I changed the story rating to Mature because another fic of mine with similar levels of content (mostly gore, mentions of sensitive topics and the like) is on mature rating. If this inconveniences anyone, let me know. I will be deleting this part of the description in a few weeks
