Different is defined as partly or totally unlike in nature , form , or quality . This quality of different is something that separates us as people and makes us individuals and is normally looked at as being a good thing that makes you unique . But in this new world of so - called " equality " different is looked at as something to be ashamed of and something you are ultimately punished for . This battle of standing out is what our 5 teenagers face each and every day and the fight against the new " normal " is one that our 5 teens must face with their freak flags flying high .

"God made everyone perfect, right? Then why is my existence a sin." Nick is a trans boy who is just trying to be himself. But sadly not everyone excepts him that way. His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. Don't worry, I did do research about being trans, but if you are a trans person, and there is anything you feel like isn't right or lacking in this story, feel free to let me know! You are programmed one way. Programmed to think one way and act one way and love one way, the normal way -- the way preferred by society, the way that everyone around you does.
