Damien is now enjoying his new life in another world after going through some trial and errors like being a wanted criminal and being hunted down by the kingdoms of the world. With all that settled, Damien can now relax and not worry about any more trouble. Only that's not the case.  Despite getting a better life than his previous one, the Champion of Darkness is surrounded by more and more trouble by the day. Not only that, but it seems an evil force is lurking through the shadows, trying to cause some chaos. What will the Champion do when his peace and quiet are being interrupted by some unknown enemy?

AN: This story is being COMPLETELY reworked as I prepare to update and start on 'Tori' again. It originally debuted in August of 2017 on AO3. I try to leave most of my older work alone, maybe fix some grammatical and spelling errors but otherwise: I don't touch them. That being said, I've been promising the next work in this series for a long while now and I just can't write the next story without fixing this one first. It's... so bad, guys. It just is. Like, it's supposed to be somewhat like an Otome on the realism scale, but even with that, there are some parts of this that I am literally choking on. So I'm re-doing it. The story line will still be mostly the same, but we're going to flesh out these characters a bit, add some continuity in the POVs, and make some pieces a bit more realistic. If you truly liked the old one and I am messing up your world, I really am sorry. That being said, this is turning out being quite a bit darker in language and imagery than the original, so keep that in mind. I think it makes the Demon Lord a much more true to canon character, but you'll have to make your own judgements. As of right now, Chapters 1-4 have been reworked. However, rather than being a lost soul or a mere mortal trapped in hell, they are suddenly declared the new King of Hell. Romance could emerge with a demoness or another royal figure, creating humor in how their relationship develops despite the strange and grim circumstances. In addition to the comedic aspect, the slice of life elements could focus on the protagonist's personal growth-adjusting to their new life as a ruler, forming connections with those they rule, and maybe even changing the culture of Hell itself. There could be moments of drama as the protagonist faces internal struggles and external threats to their rule, while magic provides the means to deal with supernatural challenges.
