Izuku Midoriya became a closed off individual after the tragic death of a close relative. He had bad anxiety, barely being able to speak without shaking, but before all of this he was an outgoing kid who made a lot of friends in his neighborhood. At the start of his freshman year of high school he moved back to that neighborhood to go to U.A. What happens when he finds all of his old friends, can they learn to love the boy he's become? Or can they help him improve and become the man he wants to be. (No quirks, takes place in Japan but I use the American school year schedule and selection of extra sports to play) (Formally "old friends")

The year is 2022. The world is in heavy anticipation for the game that will define VRMMORPGs, Sword Art Online, set in the digital world of Aincrad. One such person is Izuku Midoriya, going by the handle Deku. He fully intended to go online, make a few friends, and come out in time for dinner. Until Kayaba revealed that nobody can leave until the game is beaten. As well as revealing that if you're killed here, you're killed in real life. Now facing the prospects of a world where any mistake could cost him his life, he must make lifelong friends and form a guild with them. All the while a sinister group lurks in the shadows, convinced that death here doesn't mean death in real life. Follow Deku as he makes friends, forms a guild, and tries to survive this game of death.
