Henry Dunleavy and his fiancé, Luana Mueller, died in June of 1949. But in 2017, after almost seventy years in the grave, they begin to have thoughts and physical sensations. They're not dead. They're . . . alive. After a traumatic awakening, they discover they suffer from a condition that atrophies their bodies, threatening a comatose state capable of holding their souls in a place beyond thoughts, beyond dreams even. After some investigation, and a few difficult recollections, they begin to suspect one man. Reports place his death in 1958, but some suspect he still lives under the guise of fake identities, performing his metaphysical magic from his imposing, hilltop mansion. Henry and Luana are forced to make a decision: face off against a powerful, 140-year-old witch or perish under his spell. "The Wasting Spell" promises to engage the dreamers and romantics among us. It's a modern fairy tale with a classic touch.

||WATTY 2021 SHORTLIST|| Ex-Princess-Bride wants to marry her beloved Dragon, but when a curse threatens their happily ever after, they are left racing against time to break the spell before it breaks their hearts. *** Elvira, a princess who gave up her rights to the crown to go on adventures and do good, falls in love with a dragon knight Ferrante. Alas, copious amounts of lightning bolts threaten to keep Elvira and Ferrante apart forever, to protect the rights of her long-forgotten, dead-beat betrothed. Who knew that magic-sealed marriage contracts don't have an expiration date when the royals are involved? With romance on the line, Elvira immediately sets out in search of her betrothed to wed him, bed him and be done with him. It would have been simple, except her runaway prince had since become a highway robber and nobody knows where he might be hiding. Ferrante, infuriated with Elvira's quest to save their nuptials, takes on the ancient Arcane Guild to annul the contract. More brawn than brains, the fine print is not his forte, and the dangers of sparring with nimble minds are far greater than he had seen in his nightmares. Meanwhile, a sinister puppet-master also has designs on Elvira... So, the race to the altar is on! Age range I think is NA to adult, but it's smut-free. There are magic-filled Worlds beyond the Human World: the Witchfolk World and the Darkfolk World. The Darkfolk are working to enslave Humankind to serve every Darkfolk whim. The Witchfolk have been working tirelessly for thousands of years to stop them. A prophecy foretells of a Witch who will come to unite the Worlds... Samantha is your average teen. She is unknowingly dating a Warlock from the Witchfolk World. In an effort to protect her, he joins them together with a magical symbol that has the unintended consequence of awakening a long-dormant magical power in Samantha. Once ignited, Sam's power is noticeably strong. So strong that both magical Worlds are convinced she is the one who is going to unite the Worlds. Samantha starts to wonder if she can strike a balance to keep both sides happy. She needs to find out who she really is, what she really wants and which side she is really on. While she is potentially a good little witch, there is certainly darkness within her... *Cover credit to @lucida *
