It had been a month since Nico spent those 3 days in the infirmary, and he was slowly growing closer and closer with Will Solace. After lovely picnic on the lake, Nico realized how he truly felt about Solace, and ran from himself, ran from his feelings. But no one can run forever.
This is a chapter that I had pre-written from a Solangelo fanfiction that I'm writing, but I love it so much I wanted to release it early as a short story. Cover art is by @toastchild on tumblr! All characters belong to the wonderful Rick Riordan!

Three days in the infirmary. That's many how full days Nico will have with Will. They both want a connection between each other, but are too nervous. One of them might be planning to speak up. But everything about them is different. They are different from each other, and everybody else. What will happen in those three days? What will happen after those three days? What will happen... *dramatic pause* when disaster strikes? Will a disaster affect Nico and Will's relationship? What about when something that seems uncurable happens to Will? How can Nico and Will keep it together? Are they going to end up going their own separate ways? Or is somebody else going to try to control Will? (Dun dun duuuunnn) Unfortunately, I don't own any of these characters. If I did, that would be the best thing EVER, but I don't. He's reluctant at first, but there really is no point in arguing with Will once he's set his mind to something. And what did Nico expect from his time there? Naps and not so crappy Jell-O? Well, it definitely wasn't noisy visitors, a spying Roman, awkward moments, and a friendship that just might be a little more. He appeared to be unconscious and I panicked when I saw the blood dripping from his jet black hair. "Be careful with him! He's hurt!" I yelled. They only shrugged and placed the boy in my arms. My heart surged. After one look at him, I saw how completely beautiful he was. \ NPOV- I scrambled to my feet, terrified of what the prince would do with me, but my head pounded and I felt my legs shake and give out. I shut my eyes tight as I started to fall, but just before I hit the ground, a pair of strong, but gentle arms wrapped around me, yet again. I opened my eyes to see the Prince's worried eyes as he held me steady in his arms.Complete

And he wants to change out of this stupid tropical shirt. But will Will let him? No, he just has to stay put for the next third of his life! How unfair is that? His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride. She is getting married to Prince Will Solace and he's been invited back to his home palace to meet his soon to be brother in law. Nico agrees, for the sake of his sisters, to come home.
