Asami is Aang's older sister and the Avatar's Protector. She was proud and honored to be the Protector, but being the Protector meant making a few sacrifices. Refusing to make them, Asami run away with Aang and got frozen with him in the ice. After waking up, Asami knew her duty as Protector was beginning, especially when a banished prince showed up.
Asami despised Prince Zuko for trying to capture her brother, and she even started hating him when she found out that his great grandfather wiped out her people. But as time went by, Asami realized that she and the banished actually had more things in common than she thought.
