There are worse things than death. ___ "What is wrong with you?" I seethed. She had my back against the wall, pinning me down so I couldn't move. She was much stronger than me, even when I used my strength to get out of her embrace. I held her gaze and I knew that she was gone. There wasn't an ounce of goodness left in her body. She laughed at my question. Of course, I knew what was wrong with her. But I have to find a way to get her back. "What is wrong with me? Ha, nothing sweetheart." she told me with a smile on her face. "I'm just having a little fun." "Yeah, and fun for you is killing innocents," I growled. "Oh, I hate to say this to you but they aren't all innocent." I finally broke free of her and I dropped her to the floor. I held her down with both arms while I was on top of her. All she did was give me a smile. An eerie smile that made a shiver run down my spine. "I should kill you for what you've done," I whispered. "I should make you pay." "Oh, but Sebastian, you won't," she said. "You know why? Because at the end of the day I'm still me, and you will never hurt me, will you?" I hated that she was right. I couldn't kill her. My mind told me that it would be the best to do it but my heart told me otherwise. I mentally cursed at myself for letting this happen to her. "Elora, I know you're still in there." I said. She was still on the ground, but she was not resisting which seemed odd. "She died a long time ago," she said finally. My childhood was a nightmare of broken homes and lost hope. But through sheer will, I became a successful nurse. I've never cared what people thought of me, never let anyone dictate how I live my life. I've been through enough to know how to fight for what I want, how to work hard until I get it. But then he came into my life. It wasn't planned. I didn't want him. I didn't need him-or at least, that's what I kept telling myself. His presence unsettled me, challenging everything I thought I knew about control and power. For once, I felt my resolve begin to waver. I always thought I was strong enough to handle anything life threw my way. But with him, I'm not so sure. He's a creature of the night, a vampire cloaked in secrets buried in centuries of blood and shadow. The darkness he carries calls to me in ways I never imagined. Now, I stand at a crossroads. Will I remain the strong, stubborn woman I've always been, refusing to bend to anyone's will? Or will I surrender to the allure of his darkness, letting it consume me piece by piece until I'm no longer myself? One thing's certain: my life will never be the same.

I was falling, cascading into the dark chasm of sin and desire. I was unhinged, wild and free, giving in to everything I wanted. I would not hold back tonight. I wanted to fuck him over and over, anywhere and everywhere. Taste him and kiss him. Completely surround myself with only Jay. I will do it all with Jay tonight and every night forward. I am his queen, his weakness, his carnal transgression. I will take him as my own and ride out this delusion with him come what may. A tiny voice in the back of my mind was scolding, cursing, pleading at me to come to my senses, realize the mistakes I was making and the repercussions I would face. I suffocated the whispers, murdered my rational logic in that moment. Death was swift for the girl in my mind looking down with a frown on my actions. I laughed again, knowing this would be my undoing, enjoying the unraveling of my sanity, leaving it in shards on the ground. Because I had made up my mind.
