The simple act of breathing is one of the most important necessities for life, and yet we take it for granted. It is only when we find ourselves unable to take that next breath that we realize how much we depend on it.
"Breathe" describes a moment in time when I came to understand how one breath can change my entire life. Read "Breathe" to know more about my journey in dealing with Ehlers Danlose Syndrome. Sometimes tragedy can turn into peace and clarity.
I was inspired to publish this story after reading an acknowledgeable novel called "In Shock," written by Dr. Rana Awdish.

The act of dying; The end of life; The total and permanent cessation of all vital functions of an organism. Look it up. Death by any definition could be applied to Ember Wes on December 15th 2006. Her heart couldn't beat. Her brain couldn't think. Her lungs couldn't take in oxygen. Her body couldn't move. Dead. Despite all of this, on May 21st 2017, Ember's feet walked through Earths rich soil. Her hair flew in the wind. And the sweet air filled her lungs. We do switch from one mask to another for every person in life. We do say "I am an open book in front of a particular person" but we all know either 1 or the other thing maybe the most minor thing that can be. We do hide from that person. Does that mean we are lying? Does that mean we are not loyal or trustworthy? Does that mean we don't value their love and care? Does that mean we are playing with feelings? The average human being spends every second of his day fighting against the force of nature to see another day. But I'm different. I'm not afraid of outside forces to take my life away - only myself.
