[RvB Resurrected: Book 4] The war on Chorus has ended. Charon's forces were defeated and forced to withdraw. The U.N.S.C. is in an uproar after finding out about Malcolm Hargrove's involvement; but that's not their only issue. After learning about the part Project Freelancer - as well their sister location, Project Independence - played in the events on Chorus, the military has launched an official, in depth investigation into both programs. Not wanting his remaining top agents and other operatives caught in the crossfire, the Director plays it safe and orders all his troops into semi-retirement. A choice that leaves Project Freelancer's Squad One - as well as the Reds and Blues - stationed peacefully on Chorus. However, just because they're forced to be down, it doesn't mean they're out. When mysterious distress calls start coming in from missing teammates and other freelancers, the soldiers go on high alert. Convinced that the others are still alive as well, the remaining freelancers team up with the Reds and Blues to search for their missing men. But a case of mistaken identities and vicious attacks lead the troops - and one determined reporter - on an adventure that uncovers something much more sinister is going on.
