Indie lives in a prison, captured nearly 4 years ago, and now she's breaking out. Away from her captors who taught her to become hard, cold and merciless. She's going back to her loving, kind family. But she knew that wasn't going to be easy, especially not when she has her captors chasing her, oh and did I mention; she's not human? She comes from a planet where witches, mages, vampires and shapeshifters exist. Their home planet was failing them, so some of the inhabitants went to Earth to see if they could survive and evolve among the humans, coming over in secret. Her captors are some of the few humans who know about Indie's world and they are determined to stamp her people out, starting with her.

England, 1981. Lia is a monster: a sunshine, people-pleasing monster who has poisoned her mother. Not on purpose, but still, it's enough to make her hate her own skin. She needs help to find a cure - the docs are doing precious little. And to make things worse, the only person she thinks can help, sullen and withdrawn Gem Hawker, hates her. Because Gem is a stickler for rules, and Lia has unwittingly broken a big one: don't mess with the Hawkers. But as the two investigate the poison, Lia starts to unearth shocking details of a hidden community of dragonfly shifters who are prepared to kill in order to preserve their anonymity. Lia must journey to independence and rebel against those closest to reach her calling. Lia finds herself emerging into a world where adults are casually cruel, bodies can't be trusted, and love is rarely simple or painless. As global warming shrinks the wilderness, wild things come close, closer than Lia could ever imagine. *New chapters (almost) daily *
