Addiction is something that takes a hold of you.
Addiction can do two things. It can make you feel like your floating to the sky. You can barely feel your fingertips. You feel warm ,you feel loved.
But then it can be painful. Gut wrenching pain.
You feel trapped . You feel stuck. You feel hopeless.
When 18 year old Marshall graduated , his life could not feel more dreadful. He has no motivation to do anything . He doesn't even think he's worth the motivation. Marshall has always felt out of place. It's like very little emotions excite him.
He's lost.
Until he meets Tony.
Tony can relate Marshall on the feeling lost part.
Marshall begins to trust Tony feels as if Tony is his friend. Tony makes Marshall feel he's capable of something.
Tony is the leader of a drug ring. And Marshall had no idea what he was stepping into but he joined.
Meet three years of Marshall's life. Which contains drugs, murder, crime, sex.
And in the long term , love.
And through Tony's terms everyone in the ring goes by their middle names.
Marshall is now Andrew .
Tony is manipulative, controlling, abusive. He's the addiction that gave you a sense of purpose but also gave you your downfall.
Can Marshall escape the ring , escape Tony with out a scratch and be with the girl he loves?
Or will he completely embrace Andrew , and feed into his addiction more.

The A Team: A Novella
I lost someone dear to me in the midst of the Heroin Epidemic hitting MA in the last 3 years that spurred me to write The A Team. It is a reference to Ed Sheeran's song. This story was my grieving process. Without it, I'd be in a maelstrom of emotions that I wouldn't know what to do with. Also, my favorite band, Fall Out Boy, has a physical copy of this story. I gave it to them this past summer at a Meet & Greet in Mansfield, MA for the Boys of Zummer tour. I'd probably bawl my eyes out if I ever hear that they read it, but I don't want to hold out too much hope. They are my second form of coping with anything, and their music gave me the drive to even write the novella. Here's the description: What does it mean to truly learn to love your life again? The Weight of Grief
It's almost funny. How grief sneaks up on you. One second, you're fine; you're coping well and then it hits you like a bullet, tearing right through your heart, almost killing you on the spot. Grief is a monster that lies dormant in the darkest quarters of your mind, growing stronger and stronger until you can't fight anymore. Until you can't breathe. Peter was fractured. The monster having grown too big, and without any support left to hold him up, the world of drugs dug its claws into him. And it was slowly killing him, like a sickly sweet poison that dulled the pain while quietly feeding on his soul. He was powerless to stop it. He was too tired to stop it. Tony was doing pretty good.
