It's been quite sometime since that goodbye in Kalos. Their travels were some of the best times of their lives but it was all coming to an end. But before leaving she gave him something he'll never forget, a kiss. 

Years later, after his travels and victory in the Alola League, Ash is now a Lab Assistant for Professor Cerise alongside his friend, Gou. They both travel around the world learning new things and also achieving their goals. 

Meanwhile, a girl has finished her travels in Hoenn and Sinnoh. After, Serena's win against the top coordinator of Hoenn, May; she is thinking about him again. After hearing her friend's advice, she considers going to a new region to explore and to improve her skills.
