Kennedy knew all about the Autobots and Decepticons due to her being friends with Sam Witwicky during the Chicago War and kept it secret from her brother and niece that she was technically married to the leader of the Autobots and is one herself. During the Chicago War, Sentinal Prime had a way to turn humans into Cybertronians and used Kennedy as a test subject. Since Cybertronians were scarce, the Decepticons wanted human females to be turned so they could continue the bloodline. Starting with Optimus Prime's weakness.
