The world is cold. Richie Tozier knows that. He can feel it. Even ice isn't as cold as the heart of humans. Not the water of the unforgiving sea, nor the snow on top of the highest mountains can compare. Fire is hurtful. It can burn and it can kill. Eddie Kaspbrak feels it. He can feel it burn in him, trying to escape. But he knows better than that. Because if he lets go, it will eat everything and everyone around him alive, until the loneliness will close up on him and tear down the flames, making him freeze to death. But when you control it, it can give you warmth and comfort and provide almost everything you need to live. Everything but water. The water that is the most essential. Element of existence. Together they can make everything. United they can create. The water that gives you the base for life and the sun and light that lets it grow. So what does it mean when two boys, both living in the small town of Derry, both having it hard, both knowing pain and hurt, finding the only comfort in the presence of each other. Nothing too special, right ? And what is we add that the one has an unusual deep connection to water and ice, as the other has with fire and the hot glowing sun ? Well, you'll see.
