The Hunger Games had been a tradition for 100 years. And that year wasn't any different. Each district gave up two teenagers for the Games, one bender and one nonbender. They would fight to the death to see which district was the best that year. However, this year, something was different. The people in the Games were different this year. And they were ready to storm the Capitol at nightfall.
---
Katara hated her life. Everything about it sucked, but there was nothing she could do to make it better. And then it got even worse when she was chosen to be in the Hunger Games. She was the bender from District 4, and the nonbender that got chosen was - get this - her brother, Sokka. Their lives couldn't get any better, right?

When they made it to the Capitol, they realized how unskilled they were. Most of the other people had an unfair advantage to the Games - they had been training for it their whole lives. Katara was terrified of the Games. However, there was a certain anger growing in her. She wouldn't die in the Games. No, she would live just to spite everyone who doubted her.

That spite spurred her through the Games. It gave her the drive to take care of the kid from District 10 who was also doubted. It gave her the drive to go along with the uprising, to storm the Capitol at nightfall.

Katara just didn't think the sun would rise in the morning.

This story takes place after the war has settled. Aang and Katara finally together, Zuko the firelord, Sokka being,...well Sokka, Toph happy and never to return home, and the nations were finally at peace. When team Avatar decides to return to the southern water tribe to visit Sokka and Katara's family, they end up bringing Zuko along, giving him a well deserved break of running the fire nation. However, feelings start to make themselves known. Feelings that Aang doesn't like, little does he know he ends up pushing Katara into the arms of the edgy firebender, which was the last thing he was trying to do. Will this new romantic relationship tear team Avatar apart? Will it make them stronger? Will Katara's new found heated relationship be accepted by her tribe? Can the group move past it, and continue on? Will Aang ever get over Katara and find someone new? Knowing it's never easy ridding the feeling of that first love. And one of the most importance will Zuko find his mother? On a different note Azula, the sister of the new firelord, has been in prison for quite some time, there is obviously no way of her being released on good behavior. She plans to escape and find Tai Lee and Mai and "ask" them once again to join her side and take her revenge on her brother Zuko, Katara, their friends, and the Avatar. And plans to overthrow and take over the fire nation, feeling that her father apparently wasn't strong enough to hold his place.

Their relationship resembled a comedy of errors, starting with a bang and never quite finding its way to peace. Inara and the bald boy's initial encounter set the tone for their turbulent dynamic. Wishing death upon someone's bison and blasting a girl into the nearest wall isn't exactly the stuff of friendship bracelets. And as the years rolled by, their mutual disdain seemed to ferment into a full-bodied grudge, complete with extra layers of snark and eye-rolls. While the Avatar's little brother was everyone's favorite, showered with adoration for his charm and kindness, Inara held him in about as much esteem as a rock in her shoe. And it looked like he returned the sentiment with equal fervor. Despite the calendar pages flipping faster than their insults, neither seemed willing to bury the hatchet. The real question wasn't just how long their feud would last, but whether the universe had enough popcorn to see it through to the end. ~~ Aang x oc book 2 of my atla series Based off my first fanfic "always meet" I suggest reading that one first up until "the invasion" so you can understand better
