Art is whatever we want it to be. It's definition malleable as it passes through person to person. The same can be said about aesthetics. As human beings, we are all different and find beauty in many things and what we define as beautiful differs from person to person, young and old, meek and bold. Art is equal to beauty, it is unique to the individual and special to those who can see the passion behind it. Carter shows her art by leaving indelible ink stains on people's skin, a mark that can never be erased: the mark of her masterpiece. Harry, on the other hand, spreads art wherever he goes with a simple gesture, kind words, and, of course, the ink on his skin. She's looking to make her mark. Art is a form of communication. Whether it is through music, through writing or through painting, every note you play, every word you write and every drop of paint you put on the canvas displays an emotion. For many, it is also a form of relief, a way to say everything you wish you'd say and a way to escape everything. Some paint on a daily basis, other paint on impulse. Annabelle Snow paints on impulse. To her, it is the way to paint. It shows what you truly feel, although sometimes it may reveal things you would rather forget. This is the story of a girl passionate about art, who had her fair share of misery and was left bitter by it.

Sloan Laurent is a senior in college, living in New York, escaping from her old hometown stress. She thinks she has a routine down, and is finally free from the anxiety that used to eat her up, until a series of events leads to her finding out about her grandma's old art. Harry Styles is going to college while his dad is showing him the ropes of the art business. But the problem is, he has no plans to spend his life in his father's footsteps, but wants to make his own way in the world. Sloan and Harry's oeuvre to find the missing painting before it can be hung in the hands of mad money. Along the way they both are pulled away, and to their families' roots. The hidden secrets only found in canvas frames. The skeletons in both their closets.

Love is said to be blind, however, it's not. People in love can perfectly see each others' flaws. And those flaws can easily be overcame when both people have something in common. Something that takes them to their own world away from everyone and everything. Travis and Amy were two painters who were perfectly in love. Until one accident happened and their relationship will be tested.
