This is a psychological thriller exploring the quest of a brother-sister duo centered around a neighborhood kid who quickly becomes one of their good friends.

But something is amiss in this family and the way they treat their daughter. This is a story exploring how this strong friendship bond formed encourages Joe to pursue the truth to his suspicions.

Is he being paranoid or is Sophia really someone from his past whose true identity he can't quite figure out.

Why does his sister Monika have such a strong bond with Sophia? Is there anything in Sophia's past or her current family that is threatening her life? Why is she living such an isolated and sheltered life?

All questions start haunting Joe to the point that he could not help but investigate. His questions lead him to a dark history and certain revelations which shake him to the core. The sordid past makes a return where this mysterious Sophia's past is linked to the accidental death of a group of national-level athletes, a nefarious g**g of child traffickers, and the suspicious death of a decorated Army Officer.

The story culminates in a city-wide standoff in the foothills of the Himalayas between 11 army men and police against 24 armed terrorists.

For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!
