Valor shuffled the invitations awkwardly to one arm and with his free hand pulled one ornate envelope from the top and placed it gently on the desk in front of Medley.

"Just in case you change your mind," he said quietly, then made his way back out the door and closed it behind him.

"I won't," Medley said.

All his life he had dreamed of this moment... And once again reality had crushed that dream. He glanced to the body-length mirror that hung on the wall to his left. A heartsick tiefling glanced back.

A tiefling would have their dreams crushed, yes.
