Y/n is a conduit, but he awoke to his powers recently, so he's not as experienced as most conduits are at his age. The drawback of being a conduit is that he has no aura, they are seen as soulless. This, of course, is not true, their aura is suppressed by a mutation in genes, aka the conduit gene. He has gotten into beacon based on combat ability and general endurance alone. His family was complicated, yet, somewhat stereotypical. Dad left when he was young, mom is all he has, he was bullied, etc. etc.
He always looked up to the huntsmen and huntresses, two in particular. Electric man, and The Smoker. Both conduits, but, the only ones even only some would accept, most still didn't like them, but Y/n? He thought their powers were cooler than any semblance. He wanted to lead by their example, so, he's training to be a huntsman.

Jaune Arc, the lovable goofball and sole male of the Arc clan has left his home on his quest to become a hero like his ancestors, but being a civilian and not having the training necessary, he has to rely on cheating his way into Beacon by the use of fake transcripts. And now that he has begun his journey, he hopes that he can improve and make his ancestors proud, while also surrounding himself with people he can trust and perhaps, a deeper connection and relationship. This is his journey to become a Legend and legacy of his ancestors. A/N: Now, I have given this much thought and I have read many Jaune fics, harem mostly and they weren't exactly original, as they forgo his canon personality and just give him powers from another franchise instead of making him increase his own skill. Remnant is made up of the 4 kingdoms, Vale, Mistral, Atlas and Vacuo, the hunter training academies, Beacon, Haven, Mantle and Shade, a continent where the Faunus originated called Menagerie, various villages in the country and the dark areas where the Grimm are said to appear from. Humans and Faunus all have a force apart of their soul they unlock known as Aura, which protects them like a shield but can discharge depending on the strength used in battle. They also use superpower-like abilities known as Semblance as well as powerful handmade weapons in all shapes and sizes. It's impossible for people to have the exact same Semblance, unless it runs in the family. The story revolves around a team of 4 huntresses in training. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiou Long.
