It's fifty years in the future, the year 2064 and Constance Snow just turned fifteen. It was the year 2016 when the word was ravaged with a deadly virus. It started in China, until it had spread throughout the entire world. The remaining survivors gathered and took refuge underwater, where they built an entire civilization. They call themselves S.A.F.F.E-H.E.L.P and they call the plagued ones; The Reapers. In order to fight and survive - they had to come up with The Trials. There are five phases to the trials, and if you fail any of them.. You're released to the outside world, with The Reapers. Phase one of the trials; enter a virtual reality (that you're told is a game) where you're deepest fears come to life, and the only way out of the game? You have to face them.. But worst of all you have to be killed by your biggest fears.

Will you face your inner demons, or will you stay trapped in their games forever?

The Adventures of Morley and Boots: The crew of the Leapfrog travel randomly about the galaxy in search of unique lifeforms to trap & trade. Intra-galactic poaching is profitable, but risky - like when an Evil Intergalactic Empire accuses you of capturing their Goddess, and you don't even know which critter she is! End Game: In an alternate near-future Indochina, Imperial France still rules, much to the chagrin of the local Siamese. Ratana's brother is captain of a premiere league football team, and a hero to the Siamese - and when he is booted from the squad to make space for the son of a powerful nobleman, it sets off a chain of events that could result in the toppling of the Empire. Self-Assembly Required: Human civilization has been almost entirely destroyed by a catastrophic plague of nanites, but one city remains, hidden and protected by Hydra, a team of all-female nano/human hybrids. Is the arrival of a roguish, lone-wolf mercenary a sign that human civilization is recovering, or the event that could destroy the few remaining survivors? The Woman from Mars: The robotic crew of the Basilisk thought humans were gone, long gone. But when they are sucked back in space and time to Jupiter's moon Europa in 2552, they discover a Viking civilization with the technology to rebuild human civilization - assuming the woman from Mars can complete her mission. The world of video games was fun, joyful, and endlessly entertaining. However, it was always an illusion-everything was fake in the end. Companies tried to create better games, but one surpassed them all. Immersition Company, the most powerful tech corporation in the world, developed a revolutionary video game. Despite its innovation, the company decided to test it first. Among the few people who applied for the trial, Max was one of them. Scientists claimed the test was complete. The probability of any error was just 0.001%. Anyone would have said the code was flawless. But reality proved otherwise. A catastrophic error occurred inside the game. Whoever died in the game, died in the real world. The job Max had always dreamed of became a digital nightmare. Now, he must face deadly trials, mind-twisting puzzles, and nearly impossible enemies. The only way out: collect all the shards scattered throughout the game. Max must change-or perish. Will he make it back to his world, or die lost between lines of code? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're interested in seeing the end of this story, use this link: https://app.glitchy.ai/sign-up?rid=152493. Jiang You never dreamed she would survive the claws of zombies only to be betrayed by the very family she protected. Years later, she destroyed the experimental facility that imprisoned her. Those who sold her out? Dead! The base that betrayed her? Obliterated! Who waits for the next life to settle their scores? With her revenge complete, Jiang You exhausted her powers and self-detonated, but unexpectedly, she was reborn-half a month before the apocalypse broke out! This time, she vowed to take back everything that was hers... Stock up on food first, guns later-when the apocalypse comes, stay calm. But just as she was ready to live quietly and hoard supplies forever, a tiny bottle cap fell from the sky. That's when she learned her world was actually a book, and she was the villain who tragically died in the story? If that's the case, don't blame her for being ruthless! Sacrifice the heroine, unleash unlimited power! ... When zombies erupted, other survivors were frantically fleeing. Jiang You: "Hey, zombie up front, wait a second. Is that brain of yours ripe yet?" While other survivors fought tooth and nail over scraps of food: Jiang You: "Hotpot, BBQ, river snail rice noodles, roast duck, fried chicken, or Buddha Jumps Over the Wall... What should I eat today?" When other survivors tried to use moral blackmail: Jiang You: "Sorry, I don't have morals. You can't blackmail me." Please don't vote, story isn't mine nor the translation. Just posted it here to read. Unedited but will soon edit when I have time.

100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)
