When did I fall for you?
To be honest I don't know.
Was it the afternoon after school when I fell down and scratched my knee? When you sat down in the middle of the street beside me and made dorky faces till my tears dried.
Or was it the time when you had sat in the auditorium? Cheering and whistling as I stood alone on the stage trying not to shiver before my big speech.
I think I fell in love with you, little by little. A little because of that goofy smile, a little when you hugged me as you cried. A little when you laughed at those silly cats on the phone. A little every time I saw you.
Or maybe it was all at once when I saw you walk into the class for the first time in 7th grade.
Well it doesn't really matter anymore now does it? The spell has already been cast.
But whatever it is you cannot say love has made me foolish. I have always known I would see you walk away with another girl by your side, though never realized it would be this painful to watch. So, here I am crying, like I did when I scratched my knees. The only difference is you are not here.
Every time I cross that road your face flashes in my mind, and memories flood me. I can't even walk to the ice cream without remembering your favorite flavor. Black current, right?
So, here I am waiting on the bench. For the train. This town is nothing but memories. Memories of you. Memories that will choke me if I stay here a second longer.
I want you to know, I will never forget you and that stupid smirk.
I just wish you would remember me too.
