Emily Byrne's life had been far from normal since returning from six years in captivity. She had no idea what normal even was anymore, but everyone kept telling her that she had to find it, and quickly before she destroyed everything around her.
She found a small sense of normality in the arms of Cal Isaac but she feared that things were getting too serious. Emily wasn't ready to trust again, so she left him and her old life in Boston behind. She told everyone that she needed to find herself but all she found was trouble...
Emily poked her nose in a place it shouldn't have been and to spare her life, she agreed to do a few jobs for a very powerful man. Aleksy Pawlik is one of the biggest crime bosses in Poland and Emily was in far too deep, doing things for him that would haunt her for years to come.
Fearing for her life, she sent a cryptic postcard to Cal. She had every intention of telling Cal everything but when she saw him, she decided she couldn't drag him into this in case she didn't come out of it alive.
But Cal wasn't one to let it go. He followed Emily and discovered what she was really up to and just how dangerous her situation was, because now it wasn't just Pawlik who wanted blood.
