"Have you even hit the target?" My cousin, Lucan teases.
"I'm getting there." I say pretend to be angry but my smile gives me away. I pull back again, aim, feel the wind ripple my dress, release the arrow and miss again. "It's the wind."
He laughs. "You'll need some help." He comes over to guide my arrow but we are stopped by his older brother.
"They're almost here; stop messing around." Anthony yells from the balcony above.
"Better not keep royalty waiting." He puts my bow away from me and we go inside.
"Hurry up, for heavens sake, my future rests on this meeting." Tony meets us inside and we hurry after him.
"He's just dying to meet his bride isn't he?" Lucan whispers to me.
Hearing what Lucan said, Tony calls back, "This is good for all of us Lucan." He reminds us with annoyance. "Even for you little Bella I heard there is a son your age."
"Anthony, you seldom joke, and it is always at my expense."
Now Lucan laughs. They know I don't want a husband, I want to study instead.
