Baya is a young noblewoman on a mission to redeem her family's honor. Her first task is to kill a mage. But finding a proper champion -- and hiring him -- has proven far more difficult than you'd expect.

This story is under 10 thousand words. It takes place in the fictional Adabi desert. It has action and colorful world-building based on Arab culture. There is no romance. There is some violence but it's not graphic. The grim dark elements lie in the imperfections of the characters and the partial success of goodness.
