Kendra Santorini, a fresh Padawan to Jedi Master Plo Koon and the rarest to master one of six basic elements, has always known her whole life that she was meant to be a Jedi. She always followed the rules, followed her training counselor's teachings, hoping it would lead to her becoming a great Jedi Master one day like Plo Koon.
But when Plo Koon begins to assist in missions with Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, all the rules, all the teachings, will be tested. It will tested on whether her decisions will keep her alive or will kill her.
But most importantly, it will test her on whether her heart is set on the forbidding of attachments or on saving the persons she cares about the most.

~Book one to Valerie's Story~ Jedi Knight Valerie Ortis story began long before meeting her beloved Bad Batch. Found as an infant by the Jedi Counsel's Master Plo Koon, she found her new life at the Jedi Temple and began working her way on becoming a Jedi Master. Except one thing. She's an outsider, an outcast. None of the other younglings talk to her and she doesn't help herself by isolating herself from the other younglings. Until she meets her first friend. Together they spent the next few years training together at the Jedi Temple. That is until the council decided that they are ready to become Padawan's and she meets her master. Jedi Master Drake Amon. A Jedi who had no interest in wanting a padawan at first, but Valerie unknowingly made her way through his tough exterior. Master Amon is a tough teacher and she's tough to teach but the two of them somehow form a strong bond. She's finally found a family where she belongs. Her journey is a harsh one but with the help of The Clone Battalion 671st she gains the confidence one needs to become a strong Jedi and before long she's taking her trials to becoming a Jedi Knight. But can she handle her newfound knight-ship? Or does she throw it away? ~~~~ This is a prequel to my story 'The Bad Batch Aftermath.'
