"You know, Des, I really wish I led an adventurous life-like... a superhero!" Quirky CSU student, Penn Benson lives a fairly average life. She has a fabulous roommate and best friend, a younger brother she'd do anything for, an annoying neighbor that always manages to get under her skin, and the best job ever! Working at POW!, Cardinal City's local comic shop, Penn can get her daily dose of all things superhero. As well as an eyeful of her not-so-secret crush. But one night, as she closes up shop, she discovers a hidden doorway that descends into darkness... What lies behind the mystery door? And what will Penn do about it?

When you're a teenage undercover as a part-time superhero you have three options: You can pull on the nerd/geek high schooler or a bad boy/outcast type of high schooler. There's always the bystander, but that's never any fun. Whatever fits you most. I definitely fell into the category of a bad boy/outcast. I've always been a bit 'intimidating', so they say, even before I got my powers. So I stuck to it. Besides, who would ever think that the bad boy is actually a superhero? Apparently, a certain someone, Jenna Davison if we're going to be specific, the good girl somehow caught on to my little alter ego. And well that kind of turned both of our lives upside down, inside out, and just backwards!
