But then Elijah finds out his girlfriend cheated on him. And Klaus, who was enjoying his life as a womanizer, sees his beliefs in a free life as a single suddenly starting to crumble when he meets the ambitious event planner Caroline.
Meanwhile, Elena, Bonnie and Caroline are having more and more trouble getting their problems out of their lives. Especially, because Elena's sister Katherine and Caroline's boyfriend Tyler know just how to mess up.
