There is friends, there is family.

And then there are friends that become family.

Addie Kirwin and Adalia Bateman are not very special. Not really. The only thing special about them is how they've managed to stick by eachother after all this time.

Throughout their time together there has been a lot of questionable shit go down, ahem:

"Just remember - if we get caught, you're deaf and I don't speak English."

And sometimes, being the main characters mean that a lot of this will be going on too:

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions!"

So brace yourself. Adalia and Addie's story may or may not be like every other Teen Fiction story you've read, but rest assured, if there's anything you might gather from this, it's that no matter what, its always better to do it together.

"Together?"

"Together."

"Her troubled eyes held fire. The kind of fire that was capable of burning me to ash." ***** I grabbed her chin with my free hand, making her look at me. "I hate that I don't know you. I hate not being a part of your life, like I was before." I leaned a little closer, as her intoxicating scent filled my lungs. "Trust me, I can't hate you, no matter how hard I tried." "So you have... " It came out as more of a question than a statement from her as she looked at me with her big blue eyes. "What?" I frowned, dropping my hand from her chin and grabbing her hand, instead. "You have tried hating me then?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. This time it sounded more like a statement than a question. "I have." I sighed, dropping my head in shame. "And it made me lose the most important person in my life." ***** One night. What harm can one night do? It can change lives. Turn best friends into enemies. Turn someone's life upside down. Emily Waters and Ryder Green, were inseparable, joint to the hip, always had each others back and loved each other behind the best friend facade. But one night changed it all. He thinks he has changed for worse but what he doesn't know is that Emily has changed for the worst. Three years later, what if the girl is back, with baggage that she doesn't think anyone could handle? What will happen when they meet? Will the sparks ignite again? Graduation is right around the corner for Ada Sinclair. She's spent all of high school saving up for her dream college and skipped high school traditions to keep her grades up for scholarships. When the acceptance letter came in the mail, every ounce of her effort felt worth it. She's spent her life being a small fish in a small pond, but eagerly awaits September so she can spread her wings and move on to big things. When her mother comes home to reveal she is in the early stages of Huntington's Disease, a disease passed down from her own mother, she can't hide from the truth she may be next in line. It is then that her plans and dreams for her future shatter. Nothing is more important to her than her family, people who need her and her strength more than Ada needs her dreams. Not knowing how much time she has left with her mother, she makes the choice to remain at home and has no regrets. Only the fear of uncertainty. Feeling like the world is crashing down on her, Ada turns to the man who's been there for her for the last four years. He'd given her the confidence she needed to become the woman she is now, held her while she cried and has been there through every struggle she's faced. He seems fully willing to be there for her again, even if that means risking his career as a teacher; her teacher. As their friendship grows stronger, they find strength in one another and a connection they can only ignore for so long, a connection that comes with life-changing consequences for them both.
