Igneel decides to adopt her as his own. Lucy doesn't like the idea of living with strangers, but after getting friendlier with the Dragneel's eldest son, Zeref, she decides it might not be so bad. 

Don't jinx yourself, Lucy. 

Natsu is the same age as Lucy, and for some reason, he HATES her. Is it because he doesn't like sisters? Maybe he doesn't like that she's the main attention in the house? Maybe it's her stupidly bright, annoying blonde hair? Whatever it is, he hates it, and he hates her. 

At school, Natsu is popular: He's handsome, smart, and totally badass. So when Lucy finally starts attending his school, he pours all of his hatred onto her. Lucy, being Lucy, definitely doesn't just sit back and let herself get drenched in it. She ignores him, glares at him, the whole package. 

As time passes, Lucy is more comfortable with her new family. She opens up to her brothers and parents about her biological mother and father. Natsu, thought he refuses to admit it, starts to show feelings of love for his sister. 

Then, Natsu gets competition. 

Sting Eucliffe is a new student at their school, and him and Lucy immediately click. It's like a match made in heaven; and Natsu hates it.
