Sarah Withers, a bitter, broken girl in the eleventh grade, has been torn once more.
The 'nerd' of the class, mister I-finished-my-homework-for-next-week, Jerry Roderez, has a dark side that the small town of Caliente, Nevada never knew about until Alex Callaway, the most gorgeous, popular, and, secretly, the most caring jock in the world, found Sarah handcuffed and tied to a chain linked fence in an abandoned alleyway, near the old school buildings that got destroyed during an earthquake. Alex prefered to go to the ruins to get away from his thoughts after school, and one day on his walk, he heard the muffled sobs of a girl in his class that always stayed away from everyone. But once he saw her so defenseless, and the fact that she was almost unconscious from the handcuffs being on top of cuts on her wrists and loss of blood, he quickly untangled her from the fence and carried her through the woods to his home behind the wreckage...
