Calliope Waters was a young girl dying to get away from her life in foster care. After her parents abandoned her at age seven, the last thing she wanted was to have to stick around in a dead end town being bounced between foster homes.
However, her taste for adventure seems to be satiated when she starts to notice something different about herself: whenever she gets emotional, bad things begin to happen. Things come to a peak when she's contacted by a group known as The Chosen, consisting of witches and werewolves, formed to keep order in the supernatural world.
Calliope fears responsibility and ignoring it comes as second nature. She fears the commitment that comes along with The Chosen and the gray eyed boy that seems to be their leader. When someone is killed and the leader goes missing the responsibility seems impossible to ignore.
Will she choose to help The Chosen find the grey eyed boy and bring peace to the world as she knows it?
