Esther Pierre's life is flipped upside down after her mother was killed in a car accident.

Esther Pierre is my name, and I just turned 18. I also just graduated High school, My mom died in a car crash and I have no one now. When my mom was still alive, she told me that we have family in Haiti. So I saved up some money of my own and what I inherited from my mom. So, I took a Gap year off a college and moved to Haiti. I spontaneously moved to a country where I don't know anyone. When my mother was pregnant with me, she moved to America, she said that she was keeping us safe. I didn't know what she was talking about but I was about to find out
