Novalee Hearthrob is your ordinary girl, just with a knack for punching things. She's brave, outgoing, enthusiastic by almost everything, but most importantly alone. She's able to track almost anything with a scent, or that has left some sort of trace. 

Loneliness is all that Nova has ever encountered, but when she finds out about the upcoming hunter exam shes determined to take part in the exam. It's her first time off of Spring Island since she was born. How will she adapt to a world where she knows nothing. How will she overcome the vast amount of obstacles that the world just keeps throwing her way. Not to mention making friends with other human beings that aren't of plant or animal nature.
