Maya, a quirky university student and aspiring chemist, spends her mornings at a local café to study before her classes. One morning, her routine is disrupted when she accidentally spills her coffee all over a handsome but stressed-out student, Leo, who just so happens to be her chemistry lab partner for the semester. The story begins with Maya frantically trying to memorize a complex chemistry formula on her phone, only to knock over her coffee cup when she turns around to avoid a large stack of books tumbling off a table. She spills it directly on Leo, who is already running late for class and trying to get his papers together. Maya, mortified, tries to apologize, but Leo is in a rush and doesn't seem too happy about the accident. However, when she offers to pay for his dry cleaning or buy him a new coffee, Leo softens, and they share an awkward but sweet moment as he accepts the offer with a half-smile. They end up walking to class together, where Maya's clumsy personality and enthusiasm for chemistry start to win Leo over. Despite their very different personalities-Maya being outgoing and a bit of a scatterbrain while Leo is more focused and serious-there's undeniable chemistry between them.
