Five years after the end of the war, a prophecy given to the Order of the White Lotus by an Oracle of Destiny proclaims that the Balance is in danger once again.

Zuko and Katara must seek out the Conduit, a figure of legends who has faded into myth. Aang and Toph venture into the Spirit World to gain the forgotten knowledge he needs to defeat the Conduit. Meanwhile, the Fire Nation has been left in Princess Ursa's hands, and insurrection is stirring. Azula is back and looking to usurp her brother from the throne--by any means necessary. It's up to Sokka, Suki, Ty Lee, and Ursa to stop Azula's plot from coming to fruition.

Yin and Yang. Push and pull. The Balance must be protected or the world will perish. Katara and Zuko, Toph and Aang, Sokka and Suki; each walk their own paths to save the Balance, but these paths will meet at the crossroads that will determine if they succeed or fail.

Will Zuko and Katara find the answers they need in time? Will Sokka and Suki be able to stop Azula and her defectors? Can Toph convince Aang to do what he must? Will the Avatar and the Conduit fulfill the prophecy, or will they take their destiny into their own hands?

A special thank-you to my amazing beta-reader and editor, the spectacular LadyFaePhillips, without whom this story would still be very rough (and probably would have never been read by anyone but me).

This story takes place after the war has settled. Aang and Katara finally together, Zuko the firelord, Sokka being,...well Sokka, Toph happy and never to return home, and the nations were finally at peace. When team Avatar decides to return to the southern water tribe to visit Sokka and Katara's family, they end up bringing Zuko along, giving him a well deserved break of running the fire nation. However, feelings start to make themselves known. Feelings that Aang doesn't like, little does he know he ends up pushing Katara into the arms of the edgy firebender, which was the last thing he was trying to do. Will this new romantic relationship tear team Avatar apart? Will it make them stronger? Will Katara's new found heated relationship be accepted by her tribe? Can the group move past it, and continue on? Will Aang ever get over Katara and find someone new? Knowing it's never easy ridding the feeling of that first love. And one of the most importance will Zuko find his mother? On a different note Azula, the sister of the new firelord, has been in prison for quite some time, there is obviously no way of her being released on good behavior. She plans to escape and find Tai Lee and Mai and "ask" them once again to join her side and take her revenge on her brother Zuko, Katara, their friends, and the Avatar. And plans to overthrow and take over the fire nation, feeling that her father apparently wasn't strong enough to hold his place.

In this treacherous landscape, trust is a rare currency. Zuko's citizens eye him with suspicion, their faith in their new leader as fragile as the smoldering embers of a once-great empire. Yet, in the midst of doubt and danger, Zuko finds an unexpected beacon in the form of Katara. Her presence is a calming tide in the storm of his turmoil, offering him strength and a new perspective. As Zuko and Katara navigate the labyrinth of court intrigue and unseen threats, they cling to a shared vision of a peaceful future. But with the Blue Flame's true intentions shrouded in mystery, and old wounds threatening to tear open anew, the journey to redemption becomes a perilous dance on the edge of darkness.
