" Will you marry me?" He asked looking up at Brooklyn with a look in his eye that she knew was only for her. It was the look that made bad days good and good days even better. Everything was perfect; he had gotten her favorite flowers and the chocolate bourbon cupcakes she was obsessed with after he made her try them. The shirt she bought him for their very first anniversary still looked as good on him now as it did before. Brooklyn could feel her heart swell and the tears fill her eyes. She wanted to say yes. It would be the easiest and best yes she ever said. But she couldn't.

"No."

Five years later and Brooklyn Sawyer is determined to live a life that she has dreamed of. A life that her mother and father may not approve of. With her five year plan in mind and a new job in a new town, Brooklyn is ready to start over. But what happens when the past she tried to run from becomes part of her future.
