Captured by the Vampire (Book 1 of the Captured Series)

*Captured by the Vampire is an idea that's just been floating around in my head for years; it's based on Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series. Which means it's in First Person.*

My name is Rebecca Stoneridge: Half-Fae swan shifter and residential newbie of the OIA (Otherworld Intelligence Agency.)
At least that's what Jarvis, the CO, and my ex, told everyone. I've been working as a desk clerk, if not a paper-pusher, for my entire OIA career because of him! However, thanks to my persuasion skills, otherwise known as pestering, I'm finally given the chance to get out from under the paper and into the field.
My assignment? Track down some rogue vampires from the coven of the late Lord Dredge. Find out who their new leader is, and what their plans are, then hightail it back to HQ as fast as my wings can flap.
At first, my assignment goes well. With the help of my coworker and boyfriend, Kellis, we found out that the rogue vampires will meet up deep in the dark forests of Otherworld. Unfortunately, after that, we hit a few obstacles and I have to travel to the vampires' meeting place on my own. And having been born and raised Earthside, I'm stuck relying on a hand-drawn map from him and my late mother's warnings on what NOT to do in Otherworld. And to make matters worse, there are even MORE obstacles in my way.

Obstacle one: Kellis is a crappy artist.
Obstacle two: My mom's warnings only extend to "avoid the dark forests of Otherworld and never go outside at night without her."
Obstacle three: I'm unarmed.

Which means if I'm caught, I'm dead.
As if the handsome new guy in town wasn't enough to deal with.
