We almost made it [H.S.]

"When I close my eyes. He's the first one that I see. His eyes, his mouth. He is, the prettiest man, I have ever seen." My laugh trails off. It's a painful reminder to even imagine his face. My throat closes up and my eyes become glossy.

"He... he has these breathtaking green eyes and beautiful pink lips, every word they spill is like warm honey." His slowed speech fills my ears and it's almost as if we are magically back in our old flat.

"Even when I imagine his harsh features, all that comes to mind is how soft they are to the touch." I can't help but remember when he would let my fingers wander all over his face. Exploring the edge of his jaw and have my finger go along the bridge of his nose.

I can't even count the many times I've thought about kissing his skin just a peck. My lips even tingle by the thought. "I guess, he lives in daydreams with me." I wish that was the only place where he haunts me.
