He knew he was a vile creature. He was depraved by nature, doomed to serve the purpose of lust and sin.
No, Crowley certainly wasn't a stranger to those feelings. Hunger, desire, want. He had been designed to inflame them. This body he'd been given, temptation incarnate. Yet, he'd only ever experienced them himself for one other being, one single creature, the one and only he could never have.
He was no stranger to longing, either. He'd been pining for so long he could have filled a whole damn forest! Millennia of waiting, wanting, loving from afar. He had exhibited a quite extraordinary amount of restraint over the years if Crowley could say so himself. Maybe it had been too much. Maybe something had to snap inside of him at some point, maybe-
Excuses. Nothing but poor, pathetic attempts to justify his own weakness when it had been more crucial than ever to stay strong. It didn't matter that he'd wanted this for thousands of years. It didn't matter that he'd fought against this urge for centuries. It didn't matter that it had been on the verge of overpowering him countless times before. He hadn't let it. He'd never let it. Until now.

"Why are you doing this?" Aziraphale's voice is faint, his breathing uneven. Crowley doesn't lift his eyes to see the sickly look on his face, the twist of pain where only joyous smiles should ever be. "Bandages need changing", he mumbles, eyes fixed firmly on his working hands. "No. I meant-" He can hear as Aziraphale swallows. "Why do you care for me?" It isn't just 'why do you take care of me'. It's 'why do you still care at all'. Crowley has to close his eyes for a second, makes sure Aziraphale doesn't see. "Cause you're here", he says, voice carefully detached, "and you're hurt, and you need someone. And that someone's gotta be me." "Why?" He won't answer that. He can't answer that. "Don't ask stupid questions." ~oOo~ Or, the one where Heaven punishes Aziraphale the only way they know how, Crowley is there to help pick up the pieces, and maybe they can build something new and much more beautiful from both their broken shards. Warning for blood and injury, aftermath of physical violence, drinking as a coping mechanism, symptoms of depression - heed the tags!

He made a gesture in the air that was somehow both completely vague and alarmingly crude. "With each other." Aziraphale's heart might just have stopped. "Think about it!" The demon stepped in front of him, shielding Aziraphale from the rest of the room as he leaned in. "We don't have to actually do anything", he said, voice lowered conspiratorially. "S'just gotta look like we are, yeah? No one's gonna suspect a thing. Just helping each other out to stay undercover." Yes. Right. Stay undercover. Aziraphale really needed to focus. ~oOo~ Or, the one where they participate in an orgy in Ancient Greece, because what else is there to do but fuck your supposed enemy in order to keep up covers?

This left Aziraphale to ponder why there was another angel on Earth, but he figures it out quickly. What he does have trouble with, is figuring out who in his 6,000 years could have loved him so much that it throws off an angel in disguise. Which is Crowley's cue to panic. Warning: they're both dumbasses. Also, lots of fluff. Just prepare for lots of emotions after the Not-Pocalypse, a shocking discovery they have to learn how to cope with, an angry and frustrated Crowley, a hurt and frustrated Aziraphale, lots of misunderstandings and clearing conversation, a letter, a talk with God Herself and just lots of fluff, angst, love with a happy ending! And of course - some smut ;)
