Welcome to your new job (Y/N), you are the caretaker of the famous overlook hotel. Although there is a catch, there has been a history of murders and people going insane. The most infamous case of this is of Jack Torrance.  If you can deal with ghosts, paranormal happenings, evil energies, and a crazy dude who would literally kill for your love. Then this job is for you.

   Jack Torrance was crazy, he has been crazy since the attempted murder of his family and the hotel cook Dick Halorann. Now that he has seen the new girl, he has a crush. And this crush is deadly. He would do anything to have her, even if that results to murder. 


Okay! Well this is an alternative universe where dick and Jack isn't dead. Dick ran away with the Torrance's and Jack is presumed dead, but he was missing. No one knows where he went to. Also this happens a year after The shining, (canonically it happens in the 70's) so there will be no smartphones and modern conveniences that we have today. This is going to be a slow burn and there will be slight angst. There is also going to be blood, kidnapping, forced relationship, forced marriage, and murder. So mature audiences only! I really recommend if you are sensitive to these topics to not read this fanfiction! This is a mix of book and movie cannon with my own little touches. Also I haven't seen many of these fanfics out here so I wanted to make my own. Also I wanted to clarify that the reader is an Adult. She's in her 30's for the story!All Rights Reserved
