We are at this moment, a system in the brain to protect ourselves from the outside. No one can be trusted. When Amirah was 13 years old, she was diagnosed with Dissociated Identity Disorder (DID) after experiencing multiple traumatic experiences before the age of ten. Since experiencing her mother's death first hand, the Amira System has introduced 9 different alters. Amirah's father tucked her away from the world in fear of people seeing her as dangerous. The system believed it was best to hide, to not be different, and to only trust the ones inside. That was until a boy moved in next door and would change everything.
