Throughout your journey of life you experience many things. Some are joyous and happy, things we can celebrate an cherish with our loved ones. While others are dark and intimidating. Some things we just want to let go of, and hope we rid ourselves of that memory. Though that is not always possible. Define possessive: Demanding someone's total attention and love. Define insanity: The state of being seriously mentally ill; madness. Combine the two and something you get is dark and pernicious. Something that scares you, scars you for life. What you get in the end harms you. Emotionally? Mentally? Physically? Try all 3. Valery Walker. She looks like your ordinary 17 year old girl, and that she is. She has nothing to hide, nor nothing to fear. She has good grades, an innocent and fun personality, and the biggest heart. The one thing she fears though...the one thing that makes her skin crawl...is him. Though she does not know who or what he is. Valery just fears the shadows. After all they have been watching her whole life. Derek Gilbert. 20 year old high school student. He's a loner, a stoner, and a nobody. Everyone fears him, or everyone should that is. He could break you with the snap of his fingers. Now most people judge him for every gesture he makes and every feature upon his face and body. From his tattoos, to his few piercings, and all the way to his black heart they think he can't fall in love. It simply can't be. But that is where they all went wrong. When the majority of their judgmental talk was correct, their idea of love couldn't be any more than wrong. He can fall in love, and he did. But to us it wasn't love. It was something dark and evil. He was obsessed with her. He was possessive and insane. He had a possessive insanity and there was nothing anybody could do about it.
