"Why?" I asked in a whisper as I stared at the ocean. "Why do you care so much about me?" 

I felt his rough finger touch my chin while he turned my head towards him. He licked his lips once again and I watched as he looked deep into my eyes, his filling with different emotions. His body was suddenly closer towards mine and I gulped at the close proximity and the feeling of his body heat against mine. 

He is going to kill me. 

"Because I want to help you Oak" He replied in his deep voice. Butterflies flew in my stomach at the sound of the nickname he used to call me as a child. "I know how it feels to be in a dark place" 

"I don't need help" He shook his head making the brown curls flop against his head. I watched  some curls fall onto his forehead. I had to stop myself  from pushing them away. 

"Then let me save you"
